From 2005 there have been trips from students from Charles Thorp Comprehensive School (now Thorp Academy) in Gateshead visit the New Day Children’s Centre and carry out a development project in the local community of Bahir Dar.
Raising money throughout the year to fund their expedition, Charles Thorp pupils are able to build up key team work and budgeting skills, as well as being given the chance to see, first hand, the difference NDCC makes.
